Elvis In Concert 1972
Elvis opened at the Las Vegas Hilton International, on Wednesday 26th January. It is reported that Elvis rehearsed between 40 and 60 new songs for this engagement, probably to try and get off his mind the separation with Priscilla. Elvis used the same Jumpsuit and capes he used in his November tour.

The following day on Monday 14th February RCA began taping Elvis' shows through to Thursday the 17th for an upcoming album project, referred to around this time as "Standing Room Only", but the album was never released. Although 8 songs from this time have been released throughout the years, first "American Trilogy" on single, an other version was released on the box set "Elvis Aron Presley" the remainder on the 5 CD box set "The 70's Masters - Walk A Mile In My Shoes". It's also reported only selections of each show were recorded, but who knows

The following six weeks were taken up with a recording session to finish the album "Standing Room Only" and preparations for his upcoming tour. Which was going in part to be recorded for his next Movie "Elvis On Tour". Technicians from M.G.M and RCA were on hand to record portions of the shows.
