Elvis and his companions arrived in Houston on the 25th and held a short Press conference in the lobby of the Houston Air Centre. Then about noon on the 27th just 2 hours before going on stage Elvis held another press conference.

Following the final performance a banquet was held to honour Elvis, RCA officials presented Elvis with several gold records for recent hits, both Elvis and the Colonel received gold watches from the Livestock and Rodeo Show. The following day Elvis left for Los Angeles. Elvis then went on holiday to Hawaii, and had a recording session in Nashville in June.
