July 30, 1954
Elvis Presley makes his professional debut in Memphis. It's his first concert to be advertised. Elvis performed at the Overton Park Shell, Memphis. Once again Elvis did the two songs with Sam Phillips and Dixie and his parents in attendance. Elvis was so nervous that he didn't even notice his shaking legs. The crowd went wild.

Sam Phillips died at the age of 80. He was the founder of Sun Records and was the first mentor of Elvis Presley.
