Elvis interviewed for a job at Sears Roebuck but was not hired.Elvis Presley performed at the eighth annual Country Music Jamboree in Memphis. The show included Webb Pierce, Sonny James and Johnny Cash.

Elvis performed at the Overton Park Shell, Memphis.

Dick Clark called Elvis Presley and conducted a phone interview in which he informed Presley that his new single had just gone gold.
