In 1973, Elvis was keen to produce a karate movie/documentary, enlisting the help of
several top instructors and film-makers. However the Colonel Parker thought the project
was a folly and a drain to their ressources from the start. But in the 2002 it was finally
released as The New Gladiators.
In 2008, it ws claimed that Elvis had flown to London in 1958 while in the army for a
one day secret trip. His only known visit to the U.K. was thought to have been a stop-over
in Scotland in 1960, on his way home from the army.
Tommy Steele( Elvis' alleged chaperone) said that he was sworn not
to divulge the details of the trip. Friends of Elvis like Lamar Fike insist that
the trip never took place.
