Elvis performed at the Louisiana Hayride, Municipal Auditorium, Shreveport and the Billboard reported that the hottest piece of merchandise on the Louisiana Hayride at that moment was Elvis Presley, the youngster with the hillbilly blues beat.

December 11, 1956

Elvis ran out of gas in his new Cadillac Seville and was mobbed by fans. From the Louisiana governor Earl K. Long Elvis received the same rank as his manager, namely a Louisiana Colonel.

 Dick Grob, a sergeant on the Palm springs police force in 1969, began accompanying Elvis as a member of the security force. Three years later, Dick quit the police force and worked full time for Elvis. On this date, Elvis hosted Dick's wedding at his Palm Springs Chino Canyon home. Elvis' wedding gift was a new Cadillac.
