Elvis drove to Tupelo with Anita Wood and his parents and some friends. In the local paper
Elvis was called "the best ambassador any town could have" and urged all townspeople to
give him a warm welcome.
Elvis performed at the Fairgrounds, Tupelo, for the benefit of the planned Elvis Presley Youth Center.

Elvis performed at the University of Maryland Cole Fieldhouse, College Park, Maryland. The media as
well as the fans were puzzled about Elvis performance throughout this tour. Tony Brown however witnessed
Elvis getting out of his limousine, fall to his knees and even sleepwalk through the entire show.
